Danielle Erica Center's BIO

Danielle Erica Center is passionate about marketing and international business. She was raised near San Francisco, in beautiful Marin County and she graduated from Novato High School with honors. While she was working on her bachelor’s degree at UCLA, she did a study abroad program, Semester at Sea. During Semester at Sea, she studied international business and visited 11 countries while on the program. The countries she visited with the program included: Canada, Japan, Vietnam, China, India, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and Morocco. After she graduated from UCLA in 1997, she moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area. By doing research at UCLA on the Internet for a professor at UCLA’s Anderson School of Business, she found the Internet exciting and powerful. The Internet was still in its infancy, but she was excited by the dot com boom in San Francisco. She did some networking in SF and met an entrepreneur named Steve Vachani. She worked with Steve for several years, helping him raise over 17 million dollars of funding for his Internet start-up, Qool Media.

While at Qool, she worked with Fred Bullock, a former Apple Executive. He taught her how Apple's marketing and business practices helped make Apple one of the most beloved companies in the world. After working with Qool’s CEO, CTO and VP of Marketing, she helped create a solid product launch. The company had over 2 million members 3 months after the product launch. After Qool, Danielle embarked on a technology marketing consulting business with clients that included Genealogy.com, Family Tree Maker software, and Africa.com. She lived in North Carolina while working for Africa.com.

After Africa.com, she was recruited to do tele-medicine for Department of Defense as a technology contractor. She packed her bags from North Carolina and moved to Hawaii. She worked in Oahu, Hawaii all of 2001, at the Tripler Army Medical Base. She enjoyed living Hawaii and helping people in the islands of Hawaii get top-notch medical care from the military doctors using Internet technology. After Hawaii, she moved back to Marin County and continued to build her technology marketing career. She built websites, SEO/SEM campaigns, display and banner marketing programs and email campaigns for a myriad of clients, in a variety of verticals, including the film industry, mortgage and real estate companies and travel websites. She enjoys launching new business and creating high-impact web presence for both small and large companies.

Danielle wanted to build her graphic design and web video skills, so in the fall of 2002, she enrolled in San Francisco State’s College of Extended Learning DVI (Digital Video Intensive) Program. She graduated with a certificate from the program. In this program she learned graphic design, web design and how to create compelling digital videos.

After the SFSU program, Danielle was then recruited to be Director of Marketing for The Loan Guys, based in Santa Cruz, California. Danielle loves the beach, so she was excited to help put the company, a boutique real estate firm, on the map. After much market research, she repositioned the company from a company focused on refinance, to a real estate investment and real estate equity management company. She and her team relaunched the company as Equity Advisors, Inc. Danielle was in charge of using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and marketing automation tools to create solid relationships with the company’s large pool of clients. She also was responsible for the website relaunch, creating and writing a company blog, daily and weekly email campaigns, TV commercials with SpotRunner.com, print and post card direct mail and purchasing online leads. While at Equity Advisors, Danielle managed a relationship with Sotheby’s International Realty, which resulted in the company she worked with acquiring 68 acres of prime land in Santa Cruz County. She also helped close this 10 million dollar deal.

After over four years with Equity Advisors, Danielle decided to work with a large Silicon Valley brand. Danielle then worked for Yahoo, based in Sunnyvale, CA and then worked for Move.com and Realtor.com also headquartered in the Silicon Valley.

Since, 2009 Danielle has been working diligently with the start-up MonsterGardens.com. The company is an e-commerce company, which as is one of the largest seller of gardening products on the Internet! The CEO of MonsterGardens.com came to Danielle with a small eBay business and aksed her to help build the MonsterGardens.com web platform. Working with the CEO, Danielle created a variety of tactics including email campaigns, SEO, SEM, banner ads, Google AdWords, AdRoll (on banner ad retargeting) and a comprehensive YouTube strategy. The YouTube strategy has been wildly successful, with now over 300 “how to garden” videos.  Click here to see the MonsterGarden’s YouTube page that has over 13 million views!

As of now, MonsterGardens.com is no longer a fledging e-commerce company, but is now valued around 14 million dollars and will be sold to large gardening supply company very soon.
